Made this for the first time at Christmas. They turned out great - we had only ever had the frozen ones from our local Dutch Store. These are so much better. I already bought another roast to try them again. Am hoping to try quite a few of your recipes. As the children of Dutch immigrants who just lost our mother last summer, we are all of a sudden realizing how many recipes we took for granted that my mom just knew how to make. Your u-tube channel is where i first saw this site and i appreciated being able to follow along as you are making the recipes. Thank you for your efforts.
Made these the 2nd week of December - they were/are SPECTACULAR!!! Taste JUST like my mother-in-laws...if not a little better due to the brisket (better meat)! This recipe is a KEEPER and I will be making these for years to come. I actually got about 19 kroketten and 1 bitterballen out of this recipe. The only trouble I ran into was blooming the gelatin. I have since looked up how to do this so that it all dissolves, ran a test from that knowledge article and was successful. I anticipate the next time I make these, it will go a lot smoother and faster.
Perfect! Crunchy and creamy!
