The cookies are buttery, crunchy, and delicious! Whenever we make these, we will also make Kniepertjes, which we’ll eat on December 31st.

The waffles are deliciously buttery, with just a hint of cinnamon.

We make three different varieties, oliebollen without any filling,  ones filled with raisins, and ones filled with apple and cinnamon. These deep-fried dough balls have a thin crispy outer layer, and are fluffy and pillowy inside! Dress them with a generous dusting of powdered sugar, and you’re ready to go!! 

Learn to make “Gevulde Speculaas,” deliciously rich almond paste wedged between two layers of spiced cake or cookie!! The warm spiced flavors of the cookie layers, and the almond taste of the filling, pair so well together. For me, those are the flavor of winter and the holidays!!
